.....It was a major coup for "The Courtyard" & "Middle East in Focus" to have, Ambassador Wilson, as one of its guests, on the second forum. I was surprised and delighted that he hung in for the full two hours. His clarity and sensibility on comments, rasied by the other guests and callins', had me wishing that if Kerry wins, he would have the good sense to appoint Wilson as the Secretary of State.
.....The other guests, one pro-Israel and one pro-Palestine, were educated and spoke well for their cause. But the fact, that in two hours they could not find agreeable points, only demonstrate out how incrediably complex this issue is.
.....I am hoping for another forum on this subject. For in those two hours a lot of historical details and controversies are being made known to us. .....These forums are so sadly needed

"Debo-- Just wanted to say I think
your radio drama puts on display for your listeners a
marvelous and desperately-needed world view in a richly
entertaining manner, and your interviewing reveals a great
deal of grace. It will be a privilege some day to visit
"The Courtyard." "

Kindly accept my thanks for your invitation to participate in todays COURTYARD programe.
As you said rightly killings can never solve anything,in fact complicate the matter further.Parties to any problem should sit together and try to solve them.
Can you please send me transcripts of todays episode and let me know the cost if any?
God bless you and everyone. Thanks again." - Amrit Nehru, Feb 14, 2004

"Mr. Debo Kotun: I am grateful for the opportunity to having listened to the " Courtyard " aired on Feb. 14, 2004. You and KPFK aught to be commended for the vision, interest, courage and effort to bring the plight of Kashmiris to the attention of American public. I sincerely hope that you do succeed in your attempt to secure an hour time slot for the discussion of this burning issue. I hope you and your audience must have noted, as I did, the diametrically opposite demeanor, approach, understanding and the discussion presented by your two guest speakers. I do not know who Dr. Nehru is, except that he claims to be a Kashmiri Pandit Hindu. It is unfortunate to hear to such so called intellectuals, living freely in this country with the blessing of being able to think, understand and analyze the problem critically without coercion, present the same biogetted, jaundiced, self serving point of view that they have been used to back home. Such discourses are neither in the best interests of the constituency they claim to represent, nor are they fruitful in the resolution of the problem at hand. What we sorely need is unbiased, knowledgeable, peace loving, visionary, human rights activists to adress these issues of enormous impact on humanity, in public forums like yours, so that the innocent well meaning listeners are not misled, which otherwise unfortunately is a given from the Fundamentalists, as the likes of Mr. Nehru. May Almighty God give him guidance, proper understanding and courage to speak and act on the truth. Once again, as a Kashmiri American,I thank you for your noble efforts and I will feel privileged to contribute my share to such cause." - G.J.Dhar, Feb 14, 2004

"To
begin with, it's not an easy task bringing different cultures
together, let alone have them talk about their differences
in harmony. I encourage and "stroke your ego."
Keep it up. You have a new listener. " - Daniel

I
have been inspired to write you this e-mail since I first
heard your magnificent production on Pacifica's KPFK 90.7;
The Courtyard. Not since the early 1990's of Tacos &
Grits, co-written & co-produced by my former partner
& dear soul brother Jeff Jaggers & myself, has
an authentic grassroots radio production has come along
that really relates to the daily lives of ALL our oppressed
peoples of color in particular. . .CONGRATULATIONS &
SOLIDARITY towards great things to come . . .Please DO
NOT be discouraged from those who try to obstruct your
impending success to THE COURTYARD. -
